A Journey of Faith and Revelation” Shina Peller Breaks Silence on Religious Conversion

Nigerian entrepreneur and former federal lawmaker, Shina Abiola Peller, has publicly opened up about his decision to convert from Islam to Christianity, describing it as a deeply personal journey guided by divine encounters, reflection, and spiritual awakening.

Speaking during a candid interview that has since stirred reactions across religious and political circles, Peller revealed that his decision was not made lightly but followed “years of internal struggle” and a growing connection with the Christian faith.

“I didn’t just wake up and change my religion. It was a process one filled with personal revelations, dreams, and an inner conviction that I could no longer ignore,” he said.

Peller, who hails from a prominent Muslim background and is the son of the late renowned magician, Professor Peller, noted that he has immense respect for Islam and the values instilled in him by his upbringing, but believes his calling lies elsewhere.

“This isn’t about rejecting my roots or criticizing Islam. It’s about answering a spiritual call that has become clearer to me over time. I have found peace in Christ,” he added.

The revelation has sparked a wave of reactions on social media, with many praising his courage to publicly speak on such a sensitive issue in a religiously diverse and often polarized nation like Nigeria.

Some Islamic clerics and community leaders have urged for restraint in public commentary, calling for mutual respect and understanding, while Christian groups have welcomed Peller’s testimony as a powerful witness of faith.

Known for his involvement in politics, business, and youth empowerment, Peller’s shift may also carry implications for his public image and future ambitions.

Religious conversions, though personal, are often thrust into national spotlight when involving prominent figures especially in Nigeria, where faith remains a deeply intertwined aspect of identity, politics, and community life.

Peller concluded by saying he hopes his story encourages others to seek truth and peace, regardless of public opinion or pressure.
