Nollywood star and entrepreneur, Iyabo Ojo, has revealed the emotional turmoil that nearly led her to cancel her daughter Priscilla Ojo’s lavish baby shower, which has been the talk of social media in recent days.
Speaking during a candid Instagram Live session with fans on Tuesday night, the actress explained that the stress of planning the event, coupled with overwhelming emotions surrounding her daughter’s new phase in life, almost pushed her to call off the celebration just days before it happened.
“I was completely overwhelmed physically, emotionally, mentally,” Iyabo confessed. “There were so many moving parts, and at one point, I just broke down. It wasn’t about money or logistics. It was the reality that my little girl is becoming a mother. That hit me deeply.”
The baby shower, which took place in Lagos over the weekend, was a star-studded affair attended by celebrities, influencers, and close family members. Social media was awash with stunning visuals from the event, with Priscilla radiating joy and elegance in a flowing custom-made dress.
Iyabo Ojo also thanked friends and loved ones who encouraged her to go ahead with the event, saying their support helped her push through the moment of doubt. “I’m grateful I didn’t cancel it. Seeing my daughter so happy and surrounded by love made it all worth it,” she added.
