Panic at Airport as KWAM 1 Narrowly Escapes Aircraft Incident on Runway

There was a moment of chaos and near-tragedy at a Nigerian airport on Wednesday as legendary Fuji musician, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as KWAM 1, narrowly escaped being struck by a moving aircraft.

Sources at the airport revealed that the veteran performer had just disembarked from a private jet and was walking across the tarmac when an approaching aircraft on taxi nearly collided with him and his entourage.

Eyewitnesses say airport ground staff and security personnel had to scream and signal frantically to alert the pilot and KWAM 1’s team. The musician was quickly ushered to safety, avoiding what could have been a disastrous accident.

“It was a very close call,” said a staff member who witnessed the scene. “The aircraft was moving towards the parking bay when it almost ran into them. Thank God for the quick reaction of the ground team.”

Though no injuries were recorded, the incident has raised fresh concerns about airside safety protocols and coordination between private jet handlers and airport authorities.

Aviation analysts have long warned that Nigeria’s growing volume of private charter flights must be matched with tighter regulations and improved safety awareness for VIP passengers, especially on busy airstrips.

At the time of reporting, neither the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) nor KWAM 1’s management had issued an official statement on the incident.
