Naira Marley Urges Police to Reopen Mohbad Case, Calls for Fresh Arrests

Popular Nigerian singer, Azeez Fashola, better known as Naira Marley, has called on the Nigeria Police Force to reopen investigations into the circumstances surrounding the death of late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, widely known as Mohbad.

Marley, who has faced public backlash and scrutiny over his alleged links to the tragic incident, urged law enforcement authorities to extend their probe and re-arrest him, music promoter Sam Larry, and others previously linked to the case.

The artist insisted that a thorough and transparent investigation would help dispel rumors and provide justice for Mohbad, who died in September 2023 under controversial circumstances that sparked nationwide protests and calls for accountability.

In a statement, Marley maintained his innocence, stressing that both he and his associates are ready to cooperate fully with the police. “Justice for Mohbad is justice for all. I am willing to return and submit myself to a fresh investigation so the truth can prevail,” he declared.

The plea comes as pressure mounts on security agencies to revisit the case, amid renewed calls from fans, industry stakeholders, and human rights groups for a conclusive probe into Mohbad’s death.
