Actor Afeez Owo Breaks Silence After Yemi Solade’s Apology for On-Set Altercation [VIDEO]

Nollywood actor and filmmaker Afeez Owo has publicly responded to the apology issued by veteran actor Yemi Solade, following an incident in which Solade allegedly slapped him during the filming of a new Yoruba movie.

A now-viral video from the set shows a visibly tense moment between the two actors, with eyewitnesses claiming that the slap was not part of the script. The incident reportedly occurred after a disagreement over a scene’s interpretation escalated into a physical altercation.

In a video shared on social media on Tuesday, Yemi Solade offered a heartfelt apology to Afeez Owo, saying the act was unintentional and driven by a moment of miscommunication.

“I want to sincerely apologize to my colleague and brother Afeez Owo. What happened on set was regrettable, and I take full responsibility. It was never my intention to disrespect or hurt him,” Solade said.

Responding via his Instagram page, Afeez Owo acknowledged the apology and called for peace, emphasizing the importance of professionalism and mutual respect in the film industry.

“I appreciate the apology from Uncle Yemi Solade. We all have our moments. As professionals, we move on and focus on what truly matters — telling our stories and uplifting Nollywood,” Afeez wrote.

The incident has sparked widespread discussion online, with fans and fellow actors weighing in on the need for better conflict resolution on set. Some have also praised both actors for handling the matter maturely and setting an example for younger talents.

Industry stakeholders are urging production teams to reinforce on-set protocols to prevent future altercations, especially during emotionally charged scenes.
