Nollywood star Bolanle Ninalowo has disowned a fraudster who allegedly posed as him to swindle a woman out of ₦33 million.
The actor, popularly known as “Makanaki,” took to social media to clarify that he had no connection to the scam, warning fans against falling victim to impersonators using his name and image.
According to reports, the victim claimed she was lured into a fake relationship by the impostor, who eventually convinced her to part with millions of naira. The case has since sparked conversations about the rising trend of celebrity impersonation on social media.
Ninalowo expressed sympathy for the victim but emphasized that he could not be held responsible for fraudulent acts carried out by others. He urged authorities to intensify efforts in tackling cybercrime while encouraging fans to verify online accounts before engaging.
The matter is currently under investigation by law enforcement agencies.
