Nigerian activist Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has mobilised members of the Ratel Movement for a nationwide community service campaign.
The initiative, announced on Wednesday, is aimed at fostering civic responsibility and strengthening grassroots engagement across the country. According to VDM, the movement will focus on activities such as environmental sanitation, youth sensitisation, and support for vulnerable communities.
He emphasised that the campaign is not politically motivated but designed to encourage Nigerians, especially young people, to take ownership of their communities and contribute positively to national development.
“We want to show that activism goes beyond speaking online; it’s about actions that improve lives,” VDM stated.
The Ratel Movement, which has grown in popularity among young Nigerians, said the nationwide outreach would begin in phases, with details of the first round of activities expected to be unveiled in the coming weeks.
