Nollywood actress, Laide Bakare, has sparked conversations after disclosing that she personally introduced her daughter to nightlife and alcohol when the young lady turned 17.
Speaking in a recent interview, Bakare explained that her decision was intentional, aimed at exposing her daughter early to the realities of social life while guiding her choices.
According to the actress, she wanted her daughter to understand the environment responsibly rather than learning about it from peers or strangers.
“I took her to a nightclub myself when she clocked 17. I even allowed her to try alcohol so she wouldn’t see it as a forbidden fruit. My goal was to help her learn moderation and understand the lifestyle with my guidance,” Bakare said.
Her comments have since generated mixed reactions online, with some praising her for adopting an open and modern approach to parenting, while others criticized the move as encouraging underage indulgence.
Bakare, however, maintained that her method is about building trust and preparing her daughter for adulthood in a world where exposure is inevitable.
The actress is known for her outspoken nature and has often shared unconventional views on parenting, relationships, and society.
