Former Big Brother Naija Season 10 housemate, Kola, has opened up about his early misconceptions regarding the show’s popular host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu.
In a recent post-eviction interview, Kola admitted that during his time in the Big Brother house, he genuinely believed Ebuka disliked him due to the way certain questions were directed at him during live shows. “I actually thought Ebuka hated me,” Kola confessed with a laugh. “Each time he called my name or asked me something, it felt like he was trying to put me on the spot.”
The reality TV star explained that his perception changed after leaving the house and seeing how Ebuka interacts with all contestants in the same manner. “When I watched the playback, I realized he was just doing his job. Ebuka is firm but fair, and that’s what makes him one of the best hosts in Africa,” Kola added.
Fans of the show have reacted with amusement and empathy, noting that several housemates over the years have expressed similar feelings about Ebuka’s tough questioning and facial expressions during tense eviction moments.
Kola, who became one of the standout personalities of BBNaija Season 10 for his wit and calm demeanor, said the experience has taught him not to take things personally. “Being in that house plays with your mind. You start to overthink every look, every word. But it’s all part of the game,” he said.
His comments have since sparked lighthearted conversations on social media, with fans jokingly sharing memes and clips of Ebuka’s infamous “serious face” moments during eviction nights.
