Veteran Nollywood actress Ireti Doyle has finally broken her silence on why she suddenly withdrew from social media, revealing that she needed to protect her peace and mental well-being.
In a candid interview shared on Thursday, the award-winning actress described social media as increasingly “toxic and draining,” saying that the constant negativity and online pressure took a toll on her emotionally.
“Social media became too toxic for me. There’s too much noise, too much judgment, and too little kindness. I needed to step back and breathe,” Doyle said.
The actress, known for her graceful presence on and off screen, explained that the decision was personal and rooted in her desire to prioritize mental health, peace, and spiritual clarity over online visibility.
She added that while she values her fans and appreciates genuine online engagement, she no longer feels the need to constantly share every detail of her life for validation or relevance.
“I’m at a stage where peace is more important than attention. I still love my audience, but I had to choose myself,” she added.
Ireti Doyle’s revelation has resonated with fans and fellow celebrities, many of whom praised her honesty and echoed her sentiments about the growing toxicity of social media culture.
