British boxer and influencer Ryan Taylor, the former fiancé of Nigerian disc jockey and billionaire heiress DJ Cuppy, has finally opened up about their failed engagement months after their split stirred speculation across social media.
In a recent podcast appearance, Taylor made a surprising revelation, claiming that his ex-fiancée “doesn’t like Nigerians,” a statement that has since sparked a wave of reactions online.
According to him, cultural differences played a major role in the breakdown of their relationship. “Cuppy is a lovely person, but she doesn’t really vibe with Nigerians like that,” Taylor said. “It was hard for us because I love the Nigerian spirit the people, the culture, the energy. But she’s different, and that made things complicated.”
DJ Cuppy, whose real name is Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola, and Taylor got engaged in November 2022 after a whirlwind romance that captivated fans across Nigeria and the UK. However, by mid-2023, rumors of their breakup began circulating after both unfollowed each other on social media and deleted pictures from their engagement.
While DJ Cuppy has remained silent on the matter, Taylor’s comments have reignited online debates about the relationship, with fans divided over whether his remarks were an honest reflection or an unnecessary dig.
Neither DJ Cuppy nor her representatives have responded to the claims as of the time of filing this report.
