Nigerian singer Asake has extended his record as the artiste with the most entries in Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart history, reaching a milestone of 60 entries this week.

His collaborative hit with Wizkid, “Jogodo”, peaked at number four, cementing Asake’s position as one of the genre’s most consistent chart performers.

Meanwhile, South African singer Tyla continued her dominance on the chart, with her song “Channel” maintaining its number one spot. Tyla, named the top Afrobeats artist for 2025, previously set a record with “Water”, which spent 55 weeks at the top of the chart, the longest-running number-one song in the category.

In other Billboard news, Nigerian singer Burna Boy achieved his first top 20 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 this week, reaching number 16 with his feature on Gunna’s track “WGFT”, boosted by a remix featuring Chris Brown. This makes Burna Boy the first African artist to debut a song on the Hot 100 in five consecutive years (2021–2025).

The latest chart milestones highlight the growing global influence of African music, with Nigerian and South African artistes continuing to make waves on major international platforms.
