Family Entitlement Slowed My Financial Growth, Skitmaker Zicsaloma

Popular skitmaker Isaac Aloma, widely known as Zicsaloma, has revealed that family pressures significantly delayed his journey toward financial independence.

Zicsaloma shared his views in a recent video where he spoke candidly about money, boundaries, and the challenges many young Africans face while trying to build financial stability.

According to the comedian, several business ventures he attempted while growing up failed largely because of what he described as an entitled attitude from family members toward his income.

“I did a lot of business while growing up, but most of them failed because of family,” he said. “African family—and even your own family—can be very entitled to your wealth, even when the goal of working is to save money and build a better future.”

The skitmaker stressed the importance of setting firm financial boundaries, noting that achieving financial freedom sometimes requires making difficult decisions that may not be popular with loved ones.

He added that individuals must be willing to prioritise their long-term goals, even if it means being misunderstood. “It is very okay to be financially heartless, even to your friends and family, so that you can save up and break that cycle,” he said.

Zicsaloma acknowledged that such choices may attract criticism but insisted they are necessary. “They will hate you for it, but trust me, it is for your own good,” he added.

His comments have sparked conversations online about family expectations, financial responsibility, and the pressure many young people face while striving for economic independence..
